For the non-boaters, commissioning is the act of putting a ship or boat in service. Here in the Northeast is a rite of spring for sailors. Every spring we must commission our boats or get them ready for the coming sailing season. Well, we are in full swing of commissioning the Friend Ship. The boat has been uncovered, and clean up has begun. There is a lot wood on the boat that needs to be scrapped and varnished. Brass will be polished, the bottom will need to be painted, and sails will be put on. We are scheduled for launch on May 6th, and the way it is looking we should be ready. If the weather we are having this spring is a peek at what is in store for the summer, we should have a great summer of sailing. Bookings are coming in, so check those calenders, and book your cruise with us this summer. Maybe you will want to get your group of friends together and plan on a private sail with us. We can schedule a 2, 3, 4, or 8 hour private sail for up to 17 of you favorite people. Send us an email or give us a call. It always a fun time on Lake Champlain.
Till next time,
Capt. Mike
